Room Information
Reserving this Room

The Drake Community Library provides the Community Room as a shared public space for meetings and programs. Users are responsible for leaving the room in clean and orderly condition and returning it to its original arrangement following use.

Access to the Room

  • Users must check in at the Service Desk to have the door unlocked.

  • When the meeting has concluded, users must notify the Service Desk so the room may be secured.

Room Arrangement

  • Tables and chairs may be arranged to meet the needs of the group.

  • Tables and chairs are stored in the storage closet at the north end of the room and must be returned there after use.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Users are responsible for basic cleaning of the room following their meeting, including:

  • Wiping tables as needed (cleaner and cloths are located on a cart in the storage cupboard).

  • Sweeping the floor as necessary (brooms and dustpans are in the kitchenette and storage room).

  • Emptying small wastebaskets into the large trash container in the kitchenette when needed. Extra liners are available in the kitchenette cupboards.

  • Wiping the kitchenette countertop as needed.

Recycling and Waste Disposal

  • Recycling receptacles are provided for office paper, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans. Containers must be rinsed before disposal.

  • Glass is not permitted in library recycling and may be taken directly to the Public Services recycling location at 1st Avenue and East Street or placed in garbage can.

Lighting

  • Lights in the Community Room must be turned off according to the instructions near the switches.

  • The kitchenette light operates by an occupant sensor and will shut off automatically.

  • Cloakroom and hallway lights are on a timer and will shut off at 10:00 p.m.

By leaving the room in excellent condition, users help the Library continue to provide this space as a free and welcoming resource for the community.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Donations are greatly appreciated.
