Free tax preparation for low to moderate income taxpayers. Electronic filing can be done by IRS certified volunteers for both federal and state returns. Individuals and families must have an income of $67,000 or less. (Excluded from the service are returns that include: farm income, rental income, contract sale of property, business operating expenses exceeding $25,000, depreciation schedules, moving expenses, debt cancellation due to bankruptcy, loss from a business, or payment in sale of digital assets.) Appointments are usually available from February through mid-March at the library.
